Slept like a baby...?

Well...

I left my wife and newborn in Omaha last night. I got to KC around midnight. I got unpacked, talked to Kristi, felt tired so I went to bed. Around 4am I realized I wasnt going to get any sleep. I kept listening for my baby to coo or cry or fuss or need a bottle or diaper change. I had no wife to nudge me and tell me I was snoring again and since I was awake could I run down and get a bottle ready?

I love my wife and son very much and I miss them very much. You'd think 3 hours away isnt that big of a deal... but it is.

Leaving Home...

I am leaving tomorrow to go back to Kansas City. I have been away from work for 4 weeks. I am excited to go back to work but I cant even imagine what I am going to feel when I cannot look at Drake any time I want.

Today is Valentine's Day. Can you believe I have to leave my family on V-Day? I am on call tomorrow so I have to leave.

Dr. Sly... Maybe I should take another 2 weeks off...?

Today is Drake's official due date. Today he is 3 weeks old! I am so glad we didn't have to wait for him!
